This course examines environmental science and the ideas of conservation and sustainability by applying concepts to simulated real-world scenarios. Students explore topics on biodiversity and ecosystem, soil fertility, ecologically sustainable agriculture, land conservation, global water distribution and pollution, waste reduction and treatment, air pollution, climate change, population growth, renewable energy, and environmental economics and policies. While the course focuses on the science aspects, relevant environmental laws and practices, and personal sustainability practices are also discussed.
